The Patricia A. Rooding Humanitarian Nursing Scholarship

Nurse Patricia A. Rooding, RN-C, Class of 1960

Nurse Patricia A. Rooding, RN-C spent her 52-year career as a fierce advocate for the profession of nursing. After graduating in 1960 from the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Joliet, IL, Patricia became certified as a psychiatric nurse, working for Elgin State Hospital. During the course of her career, Nurse Rooding worked in almost every nursing specialty imaginable. From intensive care to administration, Patricia was always quick to remind those around her of the importance of nursing to the healthcare system.

In honor of her lifetime of dedication to the profession, The Patricia A. Rooding Humanitarian Nursing Scholarship was created to provide nurses with the opportunity to share their important skills to those in need around the world.
